This Maojian (aka Fur Tip) green tea is has a pale yellowish color when infused. The dry leaf is a forest green with silver hints; it is twisted length-wise, consistently about 1 inch long. A pan-dried tea, the taste is robust, roasted, not sweet, with the slight astringency that makes it a tea well-suited to drinking throughout the day. This tea is produced on an organic tea plantation in China. The tea leave is from plants that grow around Wu Qiang Xi, a large reservoir west of Hunan-Wuling Mountain area. The area is nestled among the hills, covered with cloud and mist, with evergreen trees and rich soil -- a perfect, natural environment for growing tea.

Maojian is commonly included in the list of China's top ten teas. "Mao" in Chinese means "Fur" and "jian" means "tip" or "point".
