Shan Lin Xi Oolong Tea

In Stock? Yes. Price: $48.00

This Shan Lin Xi (Pine Forest Mountain Stream) High-mountain Oolong tea is grown at 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level in the Nantou region of Taiwan. Infused, it has a mildly sweet, rich but subtle, almost buttery taste when infused, a cross between a Lishan and Jin Xuan in taste and smell. The color of the tea liquid is a golden yellow.

Shan Lin Xi area of Nantou has been growing oolong teas since the 1950s approx. The name, beautiful in itself, gives you a good idea of the beauty of this area of Taiwan: high mountains, pine trees, encircling fog -- the stuff that poetry and Chinese brush painting is made of. The tea lives up to its name.

Brewed color: Golden yellow. Flavor: Rich, but also subdued, mildly sweet, butter almost. Aftertaste: Sweet, lingering. Preparation: For best results, use spring or mineral water that has just come to a boil.

Origin: Nantou, Taiwan. Classification: High-mountain Oolong. Grade: High. Picking Method: Hand Package size: 150 grams (5.3 ounces)
