This traditionally processed Tie Kwan Yin ("Iron Kwan Yin" or "Iron Goddess of Mercy") oolong tea is a fine representative of Taiwanese Tie Kwan Yin tea. The prepared tea liquid is amber in color; the smell and taste are what you come to expect in a Taiwanese traditionally processed Tie Kwan Yin: ripe fruit, nuts.

Tie Kwan Yin tea originated in Anxi County, Fujian Province, China, during the Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor's reign [1735-1796 CE]. Tie Kwan Yin tea plants and processing was introduced into Muzha, Taiwan in the late 18th Century by Chinese immigrants. With its hilly topography and favorable drainage, Muzha had just the right conditions for growing tea.
